ABSTRACT This program mainly aims at the early damage in the asphalt pavement in Guizhou province;In order to improve the asphalt pavement quality,Research has been done the on typical structure Of high-grade highway asphalt pavement. Main contents are as following : (1) The asphalt pavement structures and damages of several roads in Guizhou province are investigated,and the causation and solution are advanced In order to reduce the damages. (2) The traffic and equivalent single axle loads are studied. The traffic and average traffic growth rate in the design period are calculated In the unequal-dimensional recursion grey model advanced,and traffic grade sub-area is advanced. (3) The climate and soil sub-area are also researched. a soil modulus back-calculation formula is put forward based on the summing up the results of soil modulus back-calculation formulas. Soil modulus sub-area is also advanced. The thickness of lime soil is accounted with the equivalent completed accepted deflection method. (4) Asphalt pavement mechanical responses are researched, and the results could be the basis. (5) Two kinds of asphalt pavement, ATB multiplex base and semi-rigid type base are advanced, and ATB multiplex base is preferred, which is composed of high quality asphalt course、asphalt treated crushed stone base、semi-rigid sub-base and graded aggregate bedding layer. The damage of asphalt pavement、the material property、economy and technology in Guizhou province are also thought over in this structure. The semi-rigid base structure is standby considering which has been in common use in Guizhou province. (6)The pavement materials design parameters are studied based on some experiments.The thicknesses of pavement are calculated and charted In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
